Is story important to you?

Do you need a solid story in a game to keep your interest or does it not matter as long as theres good gameplay? I don't really care about story as long as the gameplay is fun.

It really depends on what type of game it is, for an rpg, yes but for a sandbox game then no.

I kind of agree with the others, certain games would be dragged down by a large amount of story since they are geared towards constant action, etc. But others definately lack substance when they don't even tell you what your doing or why, just that you have to in order to "complete the mission". If only developers could find a balance between the two (do miracles actually happen?). Haha.

I think story is important in a lot of games; nice graphics are good and such, but I would rather take an amazing story and gameplay with medicore graphics over a pile of shit with the best graphics of its time any day. However, like Bla said, some games don't really need a story (ie sandbox). Minecraft is a perfect example of that: no story really, low graphics, great game.

i cant stand when a game has a bad story. but sadly most games these days have crappy stories so i just kinda deel with it
